Why we support Coral Restoration Foundation?

Coral reefs are the rainforest of the sea. They support all marine life in one way or another. They shelter shorelines from storms and erosion. They provide food and jobs for coastal communities who are dependent on tourism and fishing. They are the home of a wide variety of amazing plants and animals. For decades, reefs, especially around Florida and throughout the Caribbean have become degraded due to multiple problems. The Coral Restoration Foundation works to education, research, and actively restore the reefs by planting new coral. Why we support Center of Whale Research?

2018 was a hard year for the southern resident orcas. There are only 75 of them left in the world. They are in danger of extinction due to malnutrition from lack of their favorite food, the Chinooks. A little 4 year old orca named J50, aka Scarlet, stole the hearts of many. Sadly, Scarlet and the other calves died in 2018 due to malnutrition. This along with the emotional distress shown by the calves' mothers who lost their babies, is when Holly's Cove was born.  We believe love is a powerful force that is not just a human experience. From the tiniest microorganism to the enormous blue whale, love exists. These Orcas urgently need our help. The Center of Whale Research works to educate and researches conservation efforts.

What else can YOU do to help?

Simple action can make a big impact.  On any beach day, bring a bag with you to pick up trash. Or at least take 3 pieces of trash with you when you see it on the beach and put it in the recycling can. You could save a life that day. Also, skip the plastic straw if you can or use biodegradable straws.  If you live by the sea, release your inner mermaid! Find a mermaid pod to join and improve the condition of your sea. Let's make a splash together!
